QUALITY MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS - ISO 9001

This standard for quality management is probably the most well known standard in the world.

ISO 9000 standards are implemented by some 610 000 organizations in 160 countries. ISO 9001 has become an international reference for quality management requirements in business-to-business dealings.

ISO 9000 family is primarily concerned with "quality management". This means what the organisation does to:

• meet customer's quality requirements

• meet applicable regulatory requirements

• enhance customer satisfaction

• achieve continual improvement

NEW: Sample Quality Management Manual

Sovereign Certification has developed an example manual that can be amended and adjusted to meet an applicant's specific organisational requirements. Using the manual clients have found that it enables then to understand the standard's requirements better. The manual is intended to reflect all the mandatory requirements of ISO 9001 and can be used to form the basis for the Sovereign Certification assessment. The applicant is required to commit to the implementation and conformance of the manual's content.

Scheme Process

1. Applicant completes an Application Form [PDF] and sends  to Sovereign Certification with Application Fee.

2. Sovereign Certification provide advice and direction on way forward.

3. Applicant ensures systems in place to meet the requirements of ISO 9001.

3. Applicant submits completed Assessment Review Report  [PDF] OR compliant ISO 9001 Management Manual with Assessment Fee.

4. Sovereign Certification review submission and clarify any points requiring corrective action.

5. Applicant completes a Declaration of Conformance [PDF]  signed by top management and submit to Sovereign Certification Ltd.

6. Upon approval Sovereign Certification provides Certificate and marketing logos.

7. Sovereign Certification issues Annual Conformance Review  to assess continuing conformance to requirements.

8. Certificate Holder review ensures compliance with requirements and submits to Sovereign Certification with annual renewal fee.

9. Sovereign Certification re-issues certificate.
